I am 35 yrs old and from Northern Ireland. I compete in Modern Pentathlon (fencing, swimming, riding, running and shooting) and Triathle (running, swimming, shooting) for GB. I am a relative newcomer to the sport taking it up at 30, an age most people expect you to retire from it, not start it. But I am super excited to challenge myself in a new way, in a new sport and to get more experienced. I am currently europe's number three in my agegroup 30-40 in pentathlon and I am the current british Triathle champion. So I am on a pretty good way.
I work full time as a legislative researcher and I want to encourage others to have a go at those things you talk yourself out of trying because "I don't have time" or "I'm too old to take up something new".
